Hyunsook Byun is a South Korean artist based in the United States who creates painting and mixed media art pieces inspired by her daily life, struggling to survive in this world that is both beautiful and evil.

A variety of materials like resin, foam and more are usually added on the painted canvas to highlight the theme. She gets so much joy, fun, and pleasure when she can express indefinable images in her mind with just a piece of art instead of using the thousands of pieces of paper that would require to write it down. She earned master’s degree in art therapy, and with the experience of an art therapist, she has a strong belief in the healing power of art and the visual and spiritual impact of it.
