Hannah Nijsten is a British artist whose practice is dedicated to exploring new techniques that add depth to her paintings both physically and metaphorically, inviting viewers to deeply engage with her works.

She has developed a unique style that combines abstract with portraiture in her past collection creating stand alone powerful but calming pieces.

At StART London Nijsten will show pieces from 'The Focus Series' which explores the creation of doorways/portals to different areas in the world.

Nijsten experiences synaesthesia, whilst listening to classical music particularly string instruments, she sees ‘X’s. In this collection the artist’s aim is to add an extra layer to the works by creating an optical illusion for viewers too can experience the X’s.
