The Prudential Eye Zone Announced
START is pleased to present The Prudential Eye Zone, a specially curated section of the fair showcasing the most exciting work from nineteen emerging Asian artists in digital and video art, installation, sculpture and photography.
This section of the fair charts the highlights of the Global Eye Programme, an initiative founded in 2008 by collectors and contemporary art patrons Serenella and David Ciclitira in partnership with London’s Saatchi Gallery. The programme has nurtured artistic infrastructures across the world and brought a breadth of contemporary talent to light, presenting its findings in eighteen exhibitions to over 2 million people.
In celebration of this announcement, here’s a taster of the works on offer from the Eye Zone’s five vibrant sections: Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore.
From the Eye Zone’s Hong Kong selection, MAP Office explores the complex significations of the island as both a serene site of sanctuary and the subject of territorial disputes.
