In 2009 Hempel Galleries Director founded the Colombo Art Biennale (CAB) which has since run three editions and is currently regarded as one of the foremost contemporary cultural manifestations in the region. The majority of Sri Lanka’s most prominent artists have exhibited either at Hempel Galleries or CAB, and CAB 2012 & 2014 hosted the largest number of artists participating in one single international art event in the country.
