Gallery MOMO is a contemporary art gallery with spaces in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa. We represent a growing number of international and locally based contemporary artists with a focus on art from Africa and the diaspora. These artists, through their respective genres, keep pushing the boundaries of local and international markets. The Johannesburg Gallery is also known for its lectures, panel discussions and seminars. The residency program provides us with opportunities to collaborate with artists from around the world. In the Cape Town space, Gallery MOMO has adopted a focus on video artworks and features a dedicated video room that accompanies the three large exhibition spaces. Gallery MOMO pursues its international presence by taking part in international art fairs and the gallery’s artists are frequently included in exhibitions, biennales and established private and public collections across the globe. These include the Venice Biennale, Beijing Biennale, Havana Biennale, Lyon Biennale and other established art fairs.
